The members of GirlAdvocates! mentor refugee girls at International High School here in Austin, TX partnering with GirlForward.
Why do we mentor?
At our core, we want to help girls succeed. We partner with the non-profit GirlForward, a community of support dedicated to creating and enhancing opportunities for girls who have been displaced by conflict and persecution. The girls we tutor are refugees from various countries and need extra help as they try to balance school with learning a new language, living in a new country, helping their family, and more. We work as hard as we can to level the playing field for them so that they can go on to college.
How can you get involved?
Mentorship applications will open for the next calendar school year later.
